Field of Membership

Field of membership (FOM) – Civilian employees of the United States Coast Guard (USCG), USCG Active Duty and Reserve military, USCG Auxiliary, USCG retired employees, retired military, retired reserve, and retired auxiliary, organization of such employees, military and retired personnel of the USCG, members of their immediate families and members of the organizations.

Who Can Join

A provision of the Federal Credit Union Act which permits an individual to remain a member of the credit union until he or she chooses to withdraw or is expelled from the membership of the credit union. Under this provision, leaving a group that is named in the credit union’s charter does not terminate an individual’s membership in the credit union.

Account-to-Account (A2A) Transfers and certain ACH Origination Services are temporarily unavailable while we implement an updated processing solution. Direct deposits (including payroll) and external payments initiated through merchants or other financial institutions continue to process normally. We are working to restore these services as quickly as possible and will provide updates as they become available.

Coast Guard Employees Credit Union is preparing for an upcoming merger with Navy Federal Credit Union. All services will continue as normal at this time. Additional updates and detailed information will be shared soon.
